Finding the perfect place

We've always had the notion that we'd have an outdoor wedding.

Obviously, this sometimes presents a challenge - especially in Minnesota, where the weather is generally 'iffy' under the best of circumstances. This is amplified in any time that isn't really the heart of Summer.

In the Spring, there could be a late winter storm that dumps a meter of snow in a day. On the other side is a nasty freeze and potential snowfall on the tail end of Autumn...which is exactly when we're having the Big Day™.

In the best of times (read: pre-pandemic) finding the right venue, whether in or outdoors, is dicey for just about everyone. Will the space hold enough people? Will the lighting be sufficient? Is there space for a reception nearby? Is there an open bar so people can do the Chicken Dance? You know, the monumental questions facing all couples. Now, over a year into this craziness, we've got other things to consider; Will there be electricity? Will there be Wifi so we can stream? Can we have a penguin come visit us for pictures?

You get the picture. Well, I hope you do at least.

Okay, so back to it.

We've narrowed things down to 3 spaces at the same venue. All are outdoor spaces and are beautiful. It's our hope that we'll be able to reserve one of those spaces in the next week or so. That way we can put that detail to bed.

So, these are our three front-runners in the venue selection process:

· The Enchanted Garden

· Excedra

· Lily Pond
