Tomorrow's July 1st and we'll have officially been in the house for about two months. It seems and feels like longer.
Most of the boxes are unpacked, but there's still a good bit that isn't. Stuff for my office like the desk printer and my 3d Printer are still sitting in the corner in here. Dani's got her own office downstairs in the room just below mine - she's got her desk and chair and a nice big monitor ready for whenever she begins working from home.
There's still some pictures to hang up. A couple of shelves that need to be put together. The gaming room/loft area is the biggest piece of 'unfinished' work. We need to get the base of the shelving up the stairs, get a couple of countertops, then build shelving around that. I'm hoping we can knock that out in the next couple of weeks. This being in limbo without the shelving set up is making me anxious.
Having said all that, I still am unsure if equity is worth all of this stress. In the time since we've been here, we've replaced all the flooring in the house. Installed an alarm system, smart thermostat, and smart lighting. Bought new appliances because the dryer and fridge were in very poor working order. Now, adding more solar panels to the top of the house in order to drive down our electric bills going forward.
On a personal level, Dani's liking her job; the commute - not so much. Especially with the price of gas here. She's doing really good and will only continue to get better.
For me, work is work. Project that I'm on is ending tomorrow and I'll probably move onto my next one toward the end of the month.
