It's been a couple of weeks since the wedding.
It, mostly, went off without any problems. The one big sticking point was the weather. The whole week was beautiful, sunny, and pleasant. There was a small chance of rain on Friday the 24th, but I didn't really feel that it was something we needed to worry over; we'd still have a lovely outdoor ceremony.
-Morgan Freeman narration- "He should've worried about the rain."
So, it did end up raining pretty much from when we would've set up until a little after when the ceremony would've concluded. I know it's supposed to be good luck, but what the *&^% ?!?! The part that stings most is that because it was a rain-or-shine venue, we lost all the money we spent on it and have nothing to show for the whole thing. But, there was absolutely an argent ray of sunshine that helped.
The staff at Oak Marsh, were phenomenal in a way that I can't begin to really articulate. If it weren't for them, this would've really been a disaster and Dani and I would've been crushed. They were able to pivot quickly and helped us move tables around at the last moment to allow us to have the ceremony there (as well as the reception).
The Livestream went off without any hitches. Even though I was mic'd up for the ceremony to allow for Dani and I to be heard, it didn't pick either one of us up very well - but that's technology for you. Still, it worked and people near and far were able to tune in on their phones, tablets, and computers to watch the ceremony.
Our photographer, Denise got some great shots of us - and especially me acting like an idiot. I mean, if you can't look like that at your wedding, what's the point, right? I've put up a link in the menu bar of the website that directs to our gallery and would encourage everyone reading this to check it out. The splash image for this blog post is credited to her.
Dani and I wanted to thank everyone near and far for sharing this wonderful and amazing day with us.
