Never without a hiccup

It's 10:40pm on Thursday, the 23rd of September.

Something, something, the best laid plans of mice and men, something, something.

We'd watched the weather all week - well, for the past ten days. Tomorrow was supposed to be a partly cloudy day in the mid-60s and a light breeze.

We watched as a small chance of rain came into and out of the forecast for Friday. As of maybe Tuesday, everything was fine. Wednesday, there were some rumblings that there might be a storm hitting us from a larger system further east.

Tonight at 6:22pm, the videographer sent an email as we were on the way to the rehearsal to say that we needed to go to 'Plan B' because the weather was calling for showers from 11am until about 3pm local time. Which is the only time that there will be rain tomorrow. Which is the time we specifically needed to be free of rain.

A great many expletives were said.

Unfortunately, the Lily Pond where we were to have our ceremony is a rain-or-shine location and we're basically out that money (it's in the contract; no refunds). Dani and I are profoundly unhappy that we won't be able to have the outside ceremony that we wanted and had envisioned.

But, that's why there's a 'Plan B'.

So, all that said, the ceremony will now be indoors at Oak Marsh, where the venue is being held. Tomorrow morning their staff and probably the Best Man and I will head there to help get the room re-arranged to allow for a wedding ceremony as well. We're still working out the details of what things will look like, but we'll do our best.

This will not change anything for the Livestream, save that it won't be overlooking a beautiful verdant pastoral setting and will instead be indoors.

To say that I am frustrated and angry would be putting it lightly.

The ray of sunshine and saving grace through all this is the staff at Oak Marsh who have gone so far above and beyond to help us make this our best day. I cannot begin to express how thankful I am for them. They're truly lifesavers during our time of chaos.

Tomorrow is going to be a good day, no matter what.
